He was everyone's favorite wrestler while growing up. Though after his unmasking, WWE kind of neglected him so young fans do not know the glory of the masked Kane. Kane was one of the "monster" wrestlers. Hugh - muscled like a bull, strong beyond any constraint of realism he could easily lift the lb Big Show , and scary with that mask under his shaggy unkempt hair. Kane was something to behold in his prime. But what Kane was not is 7 feet tall as the WWE billed him to be.
WWE has a long and irritating history of increasing their wrestlers' stats in the hope of making them bigger and even more intimidating.
While a couple centimeters' worth of increase is understandable and easy to pass off, but a couple inches' is not. When he manages to stretch himself up straight he looks similar height to Roman Reigns. Show was one of my 5 favorites during his heel Turn when he fought the rock in ish. I try to keep in mind the man at around pounds was very athletic 6'10 or 6'11" and actually would perform dropkicks at that weight. A True Giant. When I researched players over recent 5 year period measured over 6'5 barefoot by NBA not a single person was overlisted by 3 inches in college..
That photo is a division 1 team. If Wight was 6'9 there then the next tallest player on a division 1 team didn't even reach 6'5, again an impossibility Click Here. He looks 1. I pegged him at 6'5", a Solid 6'5" keep in mind. If Vis touched 6'5. I can't stress how large and wide this man was, his shoulder's looked 3 feet wide. And whether its a typo or not, listing him at 6'7" Which I think is around his real height would not have made sense anyway for the WWE.
I do not think Kane is over that height, I will tell you that. Pierre has a comparison picture below where Kane is not taller than Current Haflthor, who himself is not over 6'7. Kane always wore bigger heeled boots than most of his WWE Opponents, those are facts. Very Likable guy though in real life with possibly the top 5 gimmicks of all time in the WWE.
Which we know he is a tad over 7'0, so Show has never touched 7'0". People are going to say big show Shrunk 2" by age 37 When he was first shown with Shaq, which is complete BS.
Prime heights: Shaq - 7'0. Viscera I met - 6'5" easily Not his 6'6" listing , and his pound Listing was not inflated I can tell you that. He could fill a doorway with Ease, extremely nice Man, soft spoken, actually kind of shy.
Why not It's seems to me some sportmen are measured just after a good sleep plus with their shoes. His height isn't some giant conspiracy theory. Finally someone who agrees that Viscera is overlisted! Big Show was also listed at 6'11 on a basketball roster, somehow people seem to think that a College Team won't give any extra Inch on their Rosters.
I agree with you for Kane's pic. The guy was 6"7' absolute max and helped by huge wrestler shoes. He wasn't 6'8 then. That was his approximate height in shoes not barefoot then. I find it hard to believe he lost an inch in height or more by March You have Kane too tall and Wight Big Show too short in your estimates for peaks. Also Kanes platforms in late 90s were minimum 2 inches probably closer to 2. He holds up way better than with other people. At their peaks, maybe they were the same but obviously not today.
Posture, footwear, camera angles are factors. Some photos we appear almost the same height, and some photos I appear to tower over him by 3 inches. It was to market him as "the younger bigger badder version" of Undertaker so he looked like a threat from a storyline perspective. With regards to Taker and Kane, both are pretty identical looking in height, it's pretty hard to tell who's taller legit and who isn't. Taker could look up to an inch taller at times. I believe that Kane was 6'8 at his very peak, in his boots - 6'9. And Big Show was 6' A little different than Kane's but still a solid inch on that platform. Vince wanted Kane to be gigantic. Keep in mind, when he first debuted, he had put on a lot of weight for the Kane character.
Somewhere in between there. Take a look at the staredown between Kane and Big Show at KOTR 99, and also take a look at the stare down between Kane and Show at Insurextion - Especially Insurextion, there were only 2 inches between them, at very most 2.

Then big show was billed 7'2 and noticeable taller than kane. And big show i think was legit 7'0 in his 20s. If we got him 6'7. Taller you are its easier to get away with being inflated.
As kane he was billed 6'10 but sometimes said as 7'0. When I saw him up close as well. Unfortunately couldn't get a standing pic. He easily looked 6'7 when he walked out.
